Ha! Exactly right. All those multi-millionaires and billionaires are going to be so upset.
Iraq is the best thing that could have happened to military contractors. The stockholders at Blackwater, Haliburton, and Lockheed Martin love, love, loooovvve Bush.
There's nothing like scaring the gullible public and then funneling billions and billions of their tax dollars directly into the bank accounts of these super-rich contractors via the Defense Dept. budget.
Yeah sfaa, you're so right. The real enemy is those people planting bombs and fighting U.S. soldiers in an unprovoked war fought in their country under false pretexts. Because they pose such a threat to people living all the way over here.
And If Bush and company were so concerned about terrorism, why haven't we caught Osama yet? Oh yeah, that's right. Bush said that Osama just isn't important anymore. Because he really doesn't care about terrorism or terrorists.

First off, sfaa has very nicely stated a position I'm in agreement with. It should be evident to most people that right now, there is no reason for Iran or Syria to cease supporting the insurgents. An unstable Iraq serves the interests of both countries, particularly Iran which see themselves becoming a dominant nuclear power in the region and controller of the oil resources. If you look inside Iraq, the Jesh al Mahdi extremists and al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) also see the oil resources as a means of providing funds for their global jihad and therefore have a vested interest in thwarting any resolution of the internal strife. The groups inside Iraq must be destroyed, not placated.
Secondly, numerous people (particularly Democrats and those on the left) keep alleging that the President of the United States lied in order to start a war Iraq. Lying is a false statement made with the deliberate intent to deceive. So far, I've seen no evidence that the President or members of the White House staff knew that the claims they were making in regard to Iraq's development and stockpiling of weapons of mass destruction were untrue. The claims that the President and the White House lied without providing any evidence that they were deliberately misleading the country are no more true than the allegations that Saddam Hussein was aggressively pursuing a nuclear weapons program. So far I've seen no solid evidence of either being true. The bottom line is that any allegation of misconduct must be backed up with facts and so far, I've seen no evidence to support them.
The fact is that if you were horrified by 9/11, multiply that by a factor of 10 and you still can't come up with the potential terrorist scenarios that will be unleashed not only on the United States, but on the rest of the non-Muslim world. The terrorist groups within Iraq must be destroyed and Iraq left with a strong internal defense or our way of life will be severely disrupted by a fanatical group bent on our destruction.
Additionally, the prevaricative nature of your question renders any intelligent answer a waste of time. You have already shown your bias by stating a lie in the forming of your question.

Actually, leaving Iraq would be best for those evil corporate defense contributors of yours. The ensuing war with Iran would be a far larger profit boon than Iraq.
What is with the left in this country? Its a recurring theme. America's real enemies are...well...Americans. Big Defense, Big Tobacco, Big Pharmaceuticals, Big Oil, Big Whatever Else Democrats Want To Destroy.
No the terrorists aren't our enemies. The people planting EIDs aren't our enemies. The people hijacking our airplanes aren't the enemy. No, no, no. Its the Americans in big companies that make those airplanes and make the body armor and make those life saving drugs and make the gasoline. Those our enemies.

I suppose that's as good of a reason as any... it's certainly more tactful than saying 'stay the course' is really the only viable option for one that can't pour piss out of a boot without directions on the heel.
