... choppy? I know it breaks the rules but if I say "Hi, you've reached the answering machine of Jake Ladd. Please leave me a message after the tone. Thank you" - it sounds okay. Or, "Do you, Jake Ladd, take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife..." or whatever.

What do you think because that's prob my favorite name and it's growing on me with Ladd as the last name.

I think it's very cute... people don't really say their first and last names all of the time... he'll usually just say "I'm Jake"

lol

You can't do anything about your last name, you're stuck with it. I like the name Jake. I don't think it sounds bad, I mean Ladd isn't the worst last name you could be stuck with. I knew a kid in high school and his last name was Yliniemi. That's hard to say. Anyway, I like it. It's very nice.

He will always have to say his name clearly and with a pause in the middle or else it will sound like one word and be misunderstood as "Jayclad." The name Jacob Ladd is too much like Jacob's Ladder. The name Jake is usually a nickname for something else.

My dad wanted to name my brother "Jake" but thought it sounded too harsh for a baby.. So they named him Jakob instead.. (my mom didn't like the fact the nickname was spelled with "C" but Jake wasn't) .... Jakob Ladd flows more smoothly.. You can call him Jake..

If you like the name and love the child, it's not going to be a big deal. He may lament it every once in a while, but I don't think it sounds all that bad when you say it out loud. You might want to give him the name Jacob and call him Jake, so that when he gets older, he can decide if Jacob sounds better when introducing himself.

I think Jake Ladd will be fine with a multi-syllabic middle name.

When he gets married it would likely be ". . .Jake Ladd. . ."

Something like: Jake Everette or Jake Alexander

Oh my. Have you seen the other baby name topics? This is actually quite refreshing.

Jake Ladd is a fine name. Thanks for not spelling it Jaike, Jaeke, or Jaiyke. :-)
