Why is this barbaric "sport" still legal anywhere in the civilized world? The animal is tormented, injured and then killed for the bloodlust delight of the audience. Perhaps it's not quite as brutal and inhumane as dogfighting, but shouldn't it be considered along those lines?

Superman: Well I guess we ugly Americans should stay out of other societies' cultural norms such as stoning women to death for not wearing the proper clothes, and performing clitorectomies on young girls.

Superman (and I guess this pen-name is a reflection on how highly you think of yourself): your characterization of American society is ridiculous and irrational. However, to answer your unfounded question, yes -- I'd rather live in a society where freedom is taken for granted even if some take it too far, than in a repressive society. Bullfighting is simply wrong, whether it's done illegally in the U.S., legally in Spain or anywhere else. this has nothing to do with the so-called superiority complex of Americans.
