How many miles do you get to a tank of gas compared to petrol or is it the same.
I was considering getting my car converted to gas as i am currently getting about 400 miles to a full tank of petrol costing about £50.00. and using a full tank each week.
How do they run, do you still need to use petrol aswell even when converted to gas

The problem with gas is that it is not as dense as gasoline and requires pressure to restrain it, so you have a bulky tank that is fairly heavy and perhaps of an awkward shape. An additional problem is getting the gas. In the United States there are places to buy LNG (liquid natural gas) and propane, and even books that list where stations are if you are traveling, but that doesn't help if the nearest station is further away than your tank will take you.
A lot of gas conversions keep the regular tank, add the gas tank in the trunk and put in a dual mode carburetor so the choice of lowest cost remains and carrying gasoline as a backup remains and option.
