Well, you can clean up your act & not lose your hair! Pull it into a (clean) pony tail, I like that look! It still looks good, if neat & clean, even with a suit! & Damn good with a denim jacket & jeans...clean, not grungy is the answer.

You're probably overdue for a change. It depends on what kind of hair you have because long-ish hair on a guy can be sexy, think Johnny Depp. If it's really long and raggedy, CUT IT!!
Your style can be casual and still not look stuffy, think Brad Pitt.

If you're a Republican, then "yes"! ;)
Even during my hippie days (70's), I never liked seeing men with hair longer than shoulder length, and definitely not unkempt (I could only imagine the hours it took to shampoo, assuming they did it at all!). ;)
If you're older than 35 and don't look under 25, and feel that you aren't being taken seriously by anyone, including your friends, family, or co-workers, or if you're going for an important job interview, then I'd definitely go with a major cropping!
Make sure to take "before" and "after" pix, to prove to people who you are! (don't forget about changing your driver's license and passport!)
