Is glue really made from dead horses?

Some types of glue are made by horse hoof clippings but not the actual horse!

Some glue is still made from horses, and other dead animals not deemed fit for human consumption. The majority is man-made though. The horse etc glue tends to be used in traditional trades like replacing upholstery on antique furniture.
