My basement flooded a couple of days ago (nothing upstairs got wet) & now my whole house feels damp carpets, beds, blankets & pillows. Why is this?

Even if you have removed all the standing water the air is still full of moisture. Get a dehumidifier to pull the moisture out of the air and the "damp" feeling should disappear. It is also important you do this to prevent mold from growing in the walls, floors, ceilings, etc.

Ever shampoo the carpets in your car only to find out that the windows keep fogging up on the inside for a few weeks afterward? The moisture is everywhere and will continue to be an issue until you rent (or buy) a dehumidifier. On most dehumidifiers the water removed from the air will collect in a pan that needs to be emptied fairly frequently unless you have a floor drain (or sump pit) that you can drain the water in to. I also suggest some high velocity fans to circulate air and speed up the process while running the dehumidifier. Both the dehumidifier and the fans can be rented from most tool rental places. Some Home Depot stores rent tools also. Good luck!

Open the windows in the basement run a dehumidifier and fans to dry it out. Will take about a week but all should then be fine

The evaporating water in your basement is creating a humid atmosphere that is flowing upward into your house. You really need a dehumidifier as soon as you can get one to avoid mold problems.

Are you part of the flooding that occurred in Minnesota?
