I never star... so I would never know. Nevertheless, I have learned that people tend to choose "Best Answers" to those who get many thumbs-ups. I suppose they are unknowingly peer pressured into thinking, "Well... hey, since 24+ people (or whatever the number of thumb-ups they get are) like this answer, it must be the best). Now, this is not to say that the Best Answer cannot also be the one that naturally gets the most agreement, just that it is interesting coincidence also. Pay attention to this... and I will bet you will see it too. Cheers!

I don't think so. When I ask a question I don't even look at who starred the question - I just read the answers and pick the one that's the best. Starring it means one of two things: a) you honestly think the question is unique -OR- b) you're trying to butter up the person who asked the question so they'll select yours as the best answer!

I don't necessarily think so. I don't usually look to see who's starred my question until after I pick the best answer. Here's a star for you though, you know, just in case! LOL

I don't think so.....I know I base it on the best answer...although I am sure some people might look to see who stared their question and then go from there.
I star a question if I answer it and if that was the case I am sure I wold have a lot more best answers.

It may or may not, but cash bribes do the trick every time. Go with what's most reliable when you're trying to get "Best Answer". Cash bribes FTW!

No...I star some answers so my contacts can take a gander at them...
Also, because I think they're interesting.
