OK, this looks like fun, but I will answer the last question only. Who is telling the truth about the U.S. economy? No one. The Government does not want to tell the truth. For one thing, if it tells the truth about inflation, by law they would have to increase all payments (SSA, SSI, Veteran's benefits, retiree's benefits, et al, etc.) to match inflation. The Media does not tell the truth, God knows why, I don't. And, for the most part, Big Business does not tell the truth.
The truth is that inflation is more than 10% per annum; with our high debt/asset ration, we are (as a nation) nearly bankrupt; it is so bad that many countries will not accept the U.S. dollar!

because they are the ones taking the risk and providing income for families
