50 Cent backs down over Kanye challenge
Rapper 50 Cent has distanced himself from his earlier pledge to stop performing if his new record was outsold by Kanye West's new album.

The G-Unit star told MTV last week that he wanted to 'raise the stakes' and said he would quit his rap career and only write music if Kayne West's album Graduation sold more than his Curtis record on their shared launch day of September 11th.

However, he has now reportedly gone back on the deal, claiming that he did not think people should be comparing the two artists' music as West is a 'worker bee' while he is a 'boss'.

He complained to MTV: 'Look at how you're talking to me, like Kanye West is my equal right now.

'Don't get lost in the hype. I got the right records,' he added.

'Maybe next time they can send me off to the pastures, but right now, I'm gonna stick around and sell this record - and I will be number one on September 11th.'
