Can you believe that if he kept the ball, would have to shell out thousands and thousands of dollars in taxes? What kind of world do we live in? He caught it, and shouldn't have to be jack for it! what do you think?

That's so far beyond f***ed up it's ridiculous. . Murphy should dip the ball in black paint and then send the IRS a penny in owed taxes.

I totally agree. The physical ball is not worth any more than it was when they opened the package the morning of the game. The IRS has no right to attach a value to property on the basis that an event "happened to it".

If a piece of bread pops out of my toaster with an image of Jesus on it, the IRS can't tax me on it just because some schmuck would pay me thousands of dollars on eBay for it.

I think that's so horrible! I swear like the country doesn't have bigger issues we need to worry about than someone paying taxes on a ball he caught! He caught it-he deserves to do what he wants with it without having to pay!!!

poor guy i mean it's just a ball!! don't we have other things to worry about..
