I've recently started a new brand of birth control (i'm on the 2nd week of my 2nd pack.. I take Kariva) I'm sexually active and I haven't had a period yet. I did forget to take a pill in my first pack.. by a couple hours.. like 5 hours or something like that.. and I didn't use another form of protection that night. I never missed another pill in the first pack. I took a pregnancy test over the weekend and it came back negative.. but for the last 2 1/2 weeks or so my breasts have been extremely tender, I've had back pain, killer headaches, nausea and mood swings.. I don't know if its because of the pills, or if maybe I'm about to get my period. I don't know if I should wait it out another week or so and see if I get my period late or if I should try another pregnancy test. I know sometimes the tests aren't accurate.. This is my first experience of this sort and I don't really know what to do. Please help!!!

It takes your body to adjust to birth control pills about 3-4 months. So your symptoms bight be caused by the pills. But you should take a pregnancy test in about 2 weeks again.

I think it is highly unlikely you are pg. It is more likely it is your body getting used to the new pills. Give it a couple of weeks and if still no period, do another test. I would guess it would be negative though, in which case see your doctor just to check it is the new pills kicking in.

Your body needs time to adjust to the new hormones going through you.

I am on Kariva (1 1/2 years) with no side affects. When I first started taking it it took me three pill packs to get my cycle regulated with the pills.

Give it a few months. If you have very nasty side affects talk to your doctor.

Birth control can actually cause these symptoms. Your body is telling you it is unhealthy for you to be on these pills!

I also suggest taking a pg test, again.

in many circumstances interior of a few days you should start up via fact the hormone ranges will drop as in case you have been on your sugar pills on the tip of the month. purely FYI, I have been given pregnant 2 weeks after struggling with the pill. purely make particular that it incredibly is what you prefer to do.

See and talk to the doctor who prescribed it to you. Women react differently to various birth control pills. See your doctor immediately or talk to a pharmacist.
