What would be harder for you to deal with... if you had a son who grew up to be gay or a daughter who grew up to be gay? And why?

Please spare me the politically correct answers like "I wouldn't care either way." If so, that's fine, but don't answer please. I'm just looking for honest answers about which would make you more uncomfortable. Even if you really wouldn't care all that much.

Also, please include your age w/ your answe if you don't mind. I am doing a study for school (hence why i've asked this question twice now). Thanks in advance.

It would be MONUMENTALLY harder for me if I had a SON who turned gay.

WHY? Because society has a MUCH harsher view of gay males vs females AND some of the blame falls on the father "You didn't make a real man out of him" "Shouldn't have let him play with dolls" ...whatever....

Having a daughter become gay would suck too though....It's a LOSE-LOSE scenario, in my opinion.

I'm 41 years old, since you wanted to know.....

Hmm..good question. I only have a son, and no daughter, but I'll try to answer. Oh, and I'm 29. First off, I wouldn't be happy with either one, but I'd accept both of them. I think it would bother me more if my son was gay, because as his father, I see it as my role to teach him to be a "man" (by my definition), and someone that I can talk to about the "ways of a woman".

Both would bother me pretty badly, but if I had to choose one over the other I would have to say my son to grow up gay would be hardest for me to deal with. I mean *ss sex do I really need to go into more detail besides of all the disease in that route? My daughter would disappoint me but it wouldn't be quite as bad, there isn't as much butt loving to be involved in lesbianism I mean they have p*ssy for goodness sake. this is just an opinion and I'm sure they all vary.

I'm 58. I think I would be slightly less worried with a gay daughter, mostly due to the worries about AIDS. I generally have found gay men to be more entertaining than lesbians I have known. It's a tough call.

I'm 15, I wouldn't be mad at all if I had a daughter or a son who grew up gay. I would probably be mad at both though if they acted a certain way. for example, there could be a gay dude who is like whatever yeah I'm gay, I wouldn't care. There could be though a gay dude who's like I'm really gay blah blah blah, like really feminine and stuff. I wouldn't be cool with that. It would be the same for the gay daughter.

I am 28. It would be harder for me to deal with a gay son because carrying on the family line is somewhat important to me. I admit that my view is both petty and selfish.

I think the son would be harder to deal with, not sure about the "uncomfortable" aspect.

I'd be extremely surprised if that wasn't the majority of the sentiment.

if you only want answers that are from unhappy people then i suggest you have already formed an opinion and are just looking for reinforcement. what kind of study only wants the unhappy answers? I only hope if I have a son or daughter he or she never grows up to date someone like you.

I'm 33 and I don't want my son getting poop on his shlong. Period. You can call it selfish. You can call it whatever you want. I don't care. I have one son. And if he were to turn out to not be interested in continuing the family line, then I would have failed in the same regard.

I believe gays can be rehabilitated.

You can call me what you like, but you cannot take my true feeling toward my family away from me.

No poop on the shlong.
