I have heard this discussed before between friends and I agree that this is the general concensus on the issue is the same as you you have thought, "First Gentleman."

I think in Bill.s case he would remain FORMER President Clinton and not First Gentleman. If Bill had never been president then possibly First Gentleman would apply

All president's wives are called "first ladies." Gentleman definately doesn't describe Bill. We need a new term for him. How about First Bozo.

I'd hate to think this question will be the one that stops us from voting for a qualified woman president.... we have no idea what to call her husband.

It is nearly as confusing as to what to call a husband/wife team that are both doctors. Dr. & Dr. Smith? The Doctors Smith?

Former President and Mrs. President Clinton?

The Presidents Clinton?

I am so confused.

I am voting for Barak Obama. I think Michelle will make a wonderful First Lady.

I would never call him a gentleman. Former president would work even for those who don't like him.

Yes, that would be the term for the husband of a female president--should the USA ever have one in my lifetime. LOL
