Some parts of your personality are in-built and permaneant, so you can't change them.
However...being positive is just a frame of mind- everyone can do it!

Each of us has patterns of behavior created by our series of beliefs (which could be true or not) through which we process all sensory experience. We constantly run these experiences through our personal "filtering system." Basically, your personality is a grouping a predictable behavior patterns triggered by your values, the rules which guide your life, your past experiences, and your goals. (More predictable to others than to you, usually.) When your "personality" allows your needs to be met in a fairly balanced manner, you feel adequate control in life and don't usually have a desire to change your personality.
However, if your needs are not being met or are somehow out of balance, you may be smart enough to realize that you're doing something wrong, most likely because one or more of your beliefs are not true. (Or may have been true and/or working in the past but no longer are.) Recognizing this and then changing that filtering process will cause new behaviors to arise which over a period of time become habit and voila - change in personality. (May be little things that just change a little of your personality or may be much bigger things.) And yes, I've seen people make huge personality changes.

I think so, but not everyone is able to to do. There's a part of you that is positive and optimistic, but only you know whereabouts in your head it is located. Find it, and stay there. Set up camp there and make yourself at home. This is your land, your authentic self. Ignore the negative pessamistic calls from where you used to live. Stay where you are and be yourself, and be happy.
Something like that

Yes oh yes, however philosophy is not the category to ask.
Psychology would be better.
How to... there are so many ways:
Hypnotherapy, NLP, TFT, Coaching, = all work - i do it for clients all the time. You see, positive - happy - optimistic are all skills and one can learn them.
Other include: mediation, positive focus affirmations, Thi Chi Chuin.
Indeed top sports and business people use these techniques qll the time.

Yes I believe scientists have discovered that our thoughts and habits are made stronger by using them, which creates pathways in the mind. The more you do something or think something, the stronger the path becomes. So if you train yourself to think differently and consciously reject the patterns of behaviour you wish to change, over time you will change. The bible puts it like this, in romans 12:2 ....be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Personality tends to be long-standing. What you described,
'become a positive, optimistc person,' these are thought behaviors. Changing your way of seeing the world (thinking),
is far easier than changing your entire personality. You may want to read: "Recreating Yourself" by Nancy Napier, or "Do
Yourself" by Russell Simmons. If you truly mean 'personality,' you may want to read: The "Four Agreements," by Ruiz

Of course it is. Just asking the question means you are open to changes, and want to find out way to make those changes. It is not an easy process to change your personality, it takes practise and perseverance, but it IS possible.

I dont know, but i would take a lot to change me. I am the worrying negative type of person, and as much as i try my hardest to be the opposite, i cant stay optimistic for very long.
If you have very positive friends, it can help to change your outlook on life and may help you to be a calmer person.
