i suppose you could put it down to sheer creative genius, but SO MANY of the songs involve lost love, inability to stay in love, "lust for a younger meat", etc. however, robert smith is married to his high school sweetheart and has been with her pretty much from the start of his career, as far as i know. what do you think? it's impossible to find information about mary, he's kept her pretty much private and shielded from media discussion. i only researched robert smith recently and didn't know he was married, he was the last person in the world i'd have expected to be married to his high school love.

i had no idea he was married either, and im a pretty big fan. Id have to admit im just as shocked as you. I guess maybe he had bad luck with "love" in high school until his last year when he met his love
