Unfortunately many people lack the imagination, or cannot withstand the propaganda they are subjected to for long enough to imagine anything other than what they have now.

For enlightenment, may i suggest:-

There was a wonderful book written by Robert Heinlein titled "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". In the book it talks about rational anarchism. One where a people take personal responsibility for ones own actions. The problem I see is that there are a lot of anarchists but none want to be responsible for what they do. I tend to think a rational view to anarchism is to a degree quite respectable. Far to many laws are designed to keep people from doing what other people don't want them to do. The golden rule of the Christian community is "do on to others as you would have them do on to you." The Jewish golden rule is "don't do to others what you would not want done to you." Note: I understand many Christians feel closer to the Jewish rule, and that is great. The difference is that under do onto others, lets them make rules they think you should follow. The don't do onto others says if you don't want others rules forced onto you, don't try and force your views on others.

May people have little idea what anarchism means.

Anarchists oppose illegitimate authority and hierarchy, and thus oppose capitalism and the state. Anarchists do not, however, oppose all organization; they favor voluntary, non-hierarchical self-organization.

This term has become so abused that it used usually only in the pejorative sense.

Suffice it to say that anarchism in history has often been the all important step/phase for POSITIVE change in the world and as such can be desirable.

Sometimes one has no option but to "tear down" and then re-build.The "rear down " phase is usually called anarchy.

Not a fan. Anarchy is pretty much caveman-style... where "big men" hold power, and collaboration is difficult. If you can't collaborate to build a city, and maximize food production through science and irrigation and all that - how will any one have the time for just THINKING? A life dedicated to investigation and knowledge, to building on the findings of your predecessors... That, IMO, is what makes life really exciting!

Hmmm - we had to write an essay on this a while back, on the Thomas Hobbes quote, that the life of primitive people was "nasty, brutish, and short." Obviously Thomas Hobbes was a big supporter of an organized government... but I think he's right! Order gives us science, better food, medical care, AND it keeps us civil. So folks don't go around lawlessly killing each other.

I'm from a super left-leaning part of the country, though - probably coloring my answer! But there you go.

I have experienced it. And while it's a great concept on paper, it never lasts. There's always going to to be a clear leader in any group of people.

I lived on the street with gutter punks. We made our own way and did what we wanted. But there was one guy that everyone looked up to. He was a good guy that looked out for everyone equally. He was a natural born leader and we all modeled our behavior after him.

In an alternate universe wherein nobody seeks to do anybody else any harm- i.e. no rapists, serial killers, thieves, pedophiles, scam artists, etc- and wherein corruption and deceit don't exist- it would be a great idea. Unfortunately, despite the inherent contradictions and limitations of democracy, that remains the least imperfect system available to us as I see it.

Thomas Jefferson said it is a great form of government because laws are really only for the law abiding. He liked the golden rule, which is really God's law in how we treat each other.
