Vick is a no good thug, yet because he is black, he gets support no one else would. Blacks everywhere should be embarrassed that the NAACP still continues to support Vick. What a great message to send to black youth. Go ahead, be a little hoodrat thug, its OK. We support you. Why is the NAACP still even around anymore?

I remember when the NAACP and other similar civil rights organizations fought for minorities to obtain equal access to the "American dream:. The hope that we had as a society, back in the 60's and 70's .is that overcoming racism and poverty would lead to better opportunities for oppressed people. The goals included for them to climb out of poverty and participate as equals to whites in mainstream society.

Fortunately many blacks and other minorities have "overcome" and are doing fairly well, if not a lot better than their parents and grandparents. You would think these folks would be held up as role models to encourage young people to strive to do their best. But groups like the NAACP seem to be into enabling minorities to remain dependent on government assistance; defending criminal and criminal like behavior(because they believe if a minority is charged with a crime, the charge has to be racially motivated) and unintentionally perpetuating the stereotypes many white people have about blacks and other minorities.

It's funny how the NAACP says Vick should get a second chance to show he's a changed man, yet Don Imus is the DEVIL and should never work again!

They will be around as long as there is a need for treating the races fair. I agree Vick should be punish but come on there is a lady here in Georgia that took abused dogs in they went into her home because of complains about the looks of the dogs. 18 were taken away looking like skeltons. and around 12 where found dead from hunger. Murder is murder so where is the out cry and why haven't they arrested her and when is the aspca. Justice is not blind its one sided.

I think they lost credibility because they said all should wait until he was proved guilty. He pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charges, so he is seen as guilty. I think it sends the wrong message to youth of all races.
