counselor when going through a divorce?

2007-08-22 07:06:22 · 8 answers · asked by beba 1 in Family & Relationships Marriage & Divorce

At church we have both a life coach/counselor, and the pastor. Teh life coach/counselor doesn't use emotions to solve problems and then the pastor uses religion and they will both be working with us. The first meeting would be together and the rest will be apart until they think we are ready to meet together again. versus the regular counselor just says well if you can't fix your marriage at least you'll get something out of it.

Are you religious, that is the only way that a Religious Counselor will benefit you. Both will simply help you to think in the reality of here and now; yet, a religious counselor will also apply sound Christian principles that will only be effective if you believe in the Gospel he is teaching from.

counseling is for frauds. If you have to go to a counselor to talk about your problems then there is definitely some sort of disconnect in the relationship. Break up - move on.

Depends on you. Just recognize that a religious counselor will be giving you whatever line that religion uses to keep people married.

don't assume that your problem will get solve via counselling.

counsellor is just a mere facilitator in help the 2 persons in the relationship, it is the 2 of you that make it works.

also as long as it works, doesn't matter on a lot stuff you mentioned.
