See the JAG. The Army legal services should be able to point you in the right direction.

First, check with the court in Texas to see if she has already filed. You might get lucky and find that she has already begun the divorce process. If not, you can file without knowing where she is. The court will ask that you place an ad in the local newspaper of her last known location. Once the ad has been run, the court will proceed with the divorce.

Since you have never lived together as husband and wife, you may have the option of an annulment. If you can get the marriage annulled, it means that you were never legally married to her. It may be easier and faster to have an annulment if you qualify for one.

Contact the lawyers at(JAG) Judge Advocate General, and asked them about you qualifying for an annulment. Also during the precedence you can ask about publishing an article in the largest newspaper in the City announcing that your intentions of annulment, and that you will no longer be responsible for any debts created by your wife, Give her full name, and SSAN, and date of birth, with the last known address. You will have completed two actions all at one time. Good Luck, this is by far your very best way to go.

CORRESPOND WITH THE COURT HOUSE WHERE YOU WERE MARRIED AND ASK FOR A DIVORCE KIT. IT SHOULD COST LESS THAN $10 AND IT IS INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FILE/WRITE A DIVORCE FOR YOURSELF. AFTER FILLING OUT THE REQUIRED FORMS YOU CAN FILE IT WITH THE COURT BY MAIL~~IF THEY PERMIT IT WITH YOU BEING AWAY, ASK THEM.~~IT DOES NOT MATTER IF SHE CONTEST IT OR YOU KNOW WHERE SHE IS OR NOT. YOU WILL STILL BE GIVEN A DIVORCE BY A JUDGE IN TWO YEARS IN MARYLAND, YOU STATE MAY HAVE A ONE YEAR WAIT...ASK THEM FOR SPECIFICS AND THEY WILL TELL YOU AT NO CHARGE. THE EASIEST WAY IS TO GET A LAWYER AND IT SHOULD RUN ABOUT $200-400 DOLLARS TOPS. IF YOU FILE UNCONTESTED.

I know a lot of times when people have separated and one party wants the divorce and either another one can't be found or doesn't want it...the lawyer puts an ad in the paper giving public notice of your intent to divorce...and it goes on from there. You should be able to find some assistance through a counselor there.

Did I mention...

THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US SAFE!!!

God Bless You

Contact JAG. Your chain of command will get you in contact with them. I think you might be able to pull off a legal annullment--that means the marriage never happened.

You should have someone available to you in the military that can handle this. Sounds like you need an annulment.
