Have you had someone talk endlessly during lunch, and won't let you enjoy what you're eating in peace?

It's so annoying!! Especially if you think they are finished talking, but they start something else, and they talk nonstop for an hour!! I felt like throwing my soup at them. And to top it all of they are asking questions while you are chewing, and they don't care if you have something in your mouth and can't speak at the moment. They want the answer right away with their endless huh, huh, huh? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Geeze!

Damn, I think you might need a new gig. Between that and the fact your co-workers listen to really bad music, I hope they are giving you hazard pay as well! Smeelola is right, you should invest in an iPod and that way you will not be tormented by stupid talk. I don't know your work peeps, but they sound a lot like people who simply like hearing the sound of their own voices rather than taking an interest in what you might have to say.

That's why it's good to have a book or MP3 player with you while you're eating. Just tell them- excuse me but I have more important things to attend to. Then pick up the book or put on headphones. If that doesn't work just tell them you charge to listen to people while on your lunch break - $50 an hour.

all my friends do that
but hey look at the bright side. at least then you are eating slower..
And eating slower makes you eat less and make your stomach digest properly i heard ;)

Yes. But if it's close friends we tell echother to shut up until we get done eating.

Yes, that's happened to me. I took some of their food and shoved it their mouth for them.
