I went shopping in my local department store the other day. It is a national chain. When I went to pay for my purchase with a $100 bill the checker called the Security guy over and he proceded to accuse me of trying to pass of counterfiet money. I told him that I had just got it from the bank. and offered him another bill and he said that that was fake too and they were going to be nice and not call the police on me./ This was right in the checkstand with alot of customer staring at me. I took all of the bills to my bank and they verified that they were infact real and not fake. Is this considered slander? i saved the bill that the security guy examine.

Slander is in basic terms unlawful if the suggestions that's being unfold is fake, and as you have suggested she does not ignore young infants, yet whilst her area says she does not, and the different area says she does, that is basically be conscious against be conscious and that is ineffective. besides the shown fact that in case you have prof that she does no longer ignore infants on the interest or customarily that could coach the mum (of the 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous) 's be conscious to be a lie (slander) then you may sue (so, you like prof... maybe the tapes from the hidden cams?)

Not quite. You don't have to press charges against the store owner, but you do deserve an apology. They had no evidence that the bills were fake, and yet they still made the accusation and embarrassed you in front of the whole store, and made you do all that extra driving. It's slander, but not defamation, since they didn't call the police or file a lawsuit. I don't know if you're ever going to shop there again, but if you do, I think they owe you, let's say, 100 dollars worth of free marchandise, you pick.

Perhaps this cashier person will be fired for his or her unprofessionalism.

I would go back to the store demand to see the manger, that you want an apology from the security guard, if not try the local TV or news papers to see if they will pick up the story

for if he was wrong and they where not fake, then he has some explaining to do plus the store needs to explain why under their policy and procedures this can happen, and why does not all cashiers or security have those pens cheap effective way to determine versus what training was give to the security guard to make an eye judgment since they did not use the pen

It will probably be considered an honest mistake. Many places don't even take $100 bills due to the chance they are fake. I realize it was embarrassing but did you no physical harm. I would, however, discuss this with the Manager of the store. Perhaps more employee training is necessary.

In order for it to be sue-worthy, you'd have to have suffered damages as a result of the store not accepting the money.

Other than that, you'll just have to stick to an apology and possible gift card from the store.

no its not slander. but its very bad business. I would complain to the store management and never shop in that store again.

if it ever happens again, you should call the police.

What is your ethnicity? some people are racist jerks....You should have told them to call the police on you, then you could really have put them in their place. I hate people like that lol

But i dont really know what you would call that...maybe its just rude.
