currently i have 640 mb of memory, I was wondering if i can take out the 128 stick that i have and add another 512. This would mean i would have two 512. Can i do that or is that too much memory? Right now i have a webcam that keeps crashing my computer and a memory problem is showing up.

Go to the following link, http://www.crucial.com/uk they can do an on line check which will determine which ram your motherboard supports. They will recommend the optimum amount. You can order on line and although they are not the cheapest it is worth paying for good ram. They guarantee compatibility with your motherboard and give an excellent warranty. They lso give fitting instructions. I have used them many times and always been satisfied. Hope this helps.

Depending on the motherboard specifications, you should be able to add more memory. Unless your computer is extremely old, it should take a minimum of 2 GB (2 x 1GB memory sticks).

Given that you have two slots with a 512 MB memory stick and one with a 128 MB memory stick, adding another 512 MB in place of the 128 MB should be compatible. Just make sure you match the memory specifications of the current stick.

Most motherboards support at least 1GB of memory, unless your pc is very old, it shouldnt be a problem. Mine has 3 GB of memory, although its more than I usually need.

1 gig of memory is quite normal if not recommended for today's computing needs. but check first your motherboard's manual of what specific type of memory you need.
