As if there are no racist and rednecks in New Mexico. Geez guy stop calling the kettle black.
As far as Texas is concerned, it has a very diverse racial mix especially in the major cities. If you look at the list of legislators and major office holders in the state you will find, especially in south and west Texas, a predominance of Hispanic names. I live in a city that is 56% hispanic, 14% african american 2% other cultures and the remainer white/nonhispanic or a racially mixed individual. Not a lot of room to be too big a redneck with those numbers.
You don't know where your info comes from, but you seem to be thinking somewhere below your belt.

Well, there are rednecks...especially in the small towns and outskirts....politically, it is predominantly a red, Republican state.
However, there are "little oasis" of blue in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Dallas in particular is very urban, very forward thinking, etc...liberal mayor, whose chief of staff is gay, lesbian sheriff, etc... There are theaters, museums and every urban venue one could want in Dallas....
So anyway, the whole state is not redneck...just parts...just like any other state.

The most racist place I have ever been is Chicago. And Indiana has the highest number of KKK members. Ask anyone from Chicago why they left Bellwood or Franklin Park or Oak Park.....racism, my friend.
