No 5-second rule for me. Scenario: Say I have a cat that just used the litter box or a dog that just came inside after stepping in some 'dog stuff'. They walk over the very spot where I drop a cookie. Think I'm gonna eat that! No way.

Sure unless I dropped it on the beach,it gets a little gritty!
That's what's wrong with us all nowadays we are too clean,if we have a little bacteria now and again we can build immunity to it.

didn't you see the study it takes 45 seconds for bacteria to get on the food if it is dry.
so now I have a 45 second rule.

yeah, dry food. The wet stuff like gum or mashed potatoes usually turns up too dirty. Bad experience.
