Why people use M/s?

* When writing the name of companies....(Its not only for Moter Ship)

* When saying more than two names...

Kindly define what is the real use of M/s apart from Motor Ship...

I don't know why people use M/S "when writing the name of companies,"

but M/S can also be an acronym for: "Messieurs (plural of Mister)," which is probably how M/S is used "when saying more than two names," or addressing more than two men.

I think Aquaboy has it , except it might be in reference to men and women.
