What do u think of Amr Khalid now and then?
All I see from him are good, positive things and sense how religious he is and how he tries to bring up a better youth, but I have heard many negative things about him. Is it possible that it is just a mask he wears for the media? or is it just rumors trying to pull him and his sucess down?
thoughts on this please.

You should always trust your heart when it comes to judging people.
Don't listen to what people have to say. If they say that this is his "media face" then, I suppose this is the only face you're ever going to see. Why not accept it as it is then?
Take the good. Leave the bad. If anything he says makes you feel comfortable, take it. If he doesn't make you feel comfortable, then don't listen to him.
Truth is: We know as much about people as we choose to know. They are who we want them to be.

he is making a great effort to reduce the clash of civilizations.he inspires moral behavior by narrating stories about Prophet Mohamed, his family , and his ssahaba, sometimes other prominent figures in Islam.
he doesnt give fatwa bec as he says, he isnt qualified for that. still his stories reach the hearts and minds of his listeners.
he meant to study for a PhD degree in England.
i never heard any bad rumors about him. he is married, has a child, has good parents, as i gather from little bits scattered here and there.
he cannot be wearing a mask , for he has nothing to hide as far as i know. his enemies may be behind such rumors. i saw him on tv in a live discussion with Mufeed Fawzi who had insulted him . Amr Adeeb made the connection with both men to see what each has to say in Al Qahera Al Youm , Orbit. what i saw made me admire Amr Khaled . he was v forgiving , said he isnt upset , can understand, etc. meanwhile, Mufeed Fawzi wasnt apologetic enough in my opinion.
from my point of view, i believe that a forgiving person who accepts reconciliation is following in the footsteps of our Prophet. i personaly do that so that when i put my head on the pillow at night, i have nothing grey in my heart or mind. im clean from any anger , envy, hatred , etc.
now do i listen to him?
occasionally bec i dont like the ring in his voice. when i watch him on tv, it's a bit better.
the sheikh i cannot miss at any time is Al Sha3rawi. he is great , unique, unparalleled, af rahma 3aleih.

I think he is a hypocrite and uses Islam for his own political agenda. He is like Al-Habib Al-Jafri, working for the government and doing what they want not what is right by way of Islam.Unlike when Mohammed Hassan, who is true and speaks right about Islam..

I don't trust the media..i don't believe he is wearing a mask or something i believe he has good intentions..but, personally speaking, i don't like, mostly, his choice of topics (it is as if he is speaking to a newly Muslims (7adeethy 3ahd bel2eslam)), plus his voice get on my nerves..
that's all i can say about him..

asalam alaikum,
I think he is an excellant story teller, and genuinely seems to inspire people...also my wife spoke to him on the phone when she was having issues with her parents about her wearing hijab....and he was a great help to her....having said that, he does speak alot about the hijab being wajib, but I still dont see him in a beard....I think he doesnt have one to be able to appear more 'progressive'. But i think this is a problem with muslims now, were trying way too hard to make our religion acceptable to others, instead of showing others how to accept the religion. Just my opinion, may Allah(swt) reward him for the good he has done, and guide him to do better.

Sorry, but I don't know how to say it in English... I'm sure some Arab brother or sister will be able to translate it to you...
Honestly, I don't waste my time listening to him, I prefer those who actually do something for Islam and sacrifice themselves for Islam.

Well for me, it doesnt matter, what matters is that i learned good things from him and he showed me the good and asked us to do it, being good or bad from inside is between him and good but i will judge him only as what i have seen, what else do you need from him as long as he is providing you with good convincing information which could help you out.

Amr Khaled is good only in the history of Mohamed (PBUH) and his family and friends. He can get many good morals out of it for the young generations. Many girls and young guys liked him and affected by him. That makes him has at least one good point.
As for myself I can't watch him or listen to him longer than few minutes. I have my reasons which is not personal, but I don't like to say it in public. He should not discuss Fatwa as he has nothing to do with it. He was just a normal guy who used to attend the lessons of Omar Abdel kafy in the first seats (as far as I know) Later he went to USA for Phd. then he came with a study in the history of Mohamed (PBUH). If he can narrate and speak about morals from the history of Islam, it's fine. Anything else I'm against him of course as he made already few mistakes which lead him to be stopped inside Egypt. Of course everybody makes mistakes, but when someone makes a mistake in his lesson with thousands of audience watching, listening or later buy or listen to the tapes, it's something else.
I wish God forgives him for his mistakes specially if he knew it. Also I heard him promising not to make Fatwa which is a good thing.
I prefer Khaled El Gendy very much. At least I know he has enough studies and knowledge. He is from Azhar and approved to make Fatwa and to teach some topics. He had learned in Al Azhar.
Edit : As long as others mentioned his voice, yes I don't like it. Not only as a personal feeling, but we can use the example of [the conditions of Emam for Friday prayers]. If you read this conditions, you'll see that normal voice and looks is one of the points for Emam specially if there are many normal voices. At the same time he can use the lower tone that makes his voice normal.
His first Phd. was from USA then after his lessons was banned from Egypt he started his new Phd. In England. I wonder why he is from the Azhar country and he makes his Phd. Abroad !
