I'm looking a traveling from the UK to USA (New York City) in December this year and I was wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction of where to find out what travel documents I would need? I know that I will need a passport that still has 6 months on it but I am more concerned on whether I would need a visa or not and if I do where I would apply for it. Many thanks for any help.

If you are going to be in country less than 90 days the just fill out the visa waiver form on the plane.

Otherwise go to the website destinationusa in the UK and you will find all the information required by the US London embassy

The U.K. is part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). That means you are allowed to stay up to 90 days without a visa. If you wanted to stay longer, you'd have to apply for a B2 visa, officially a "visitor's visa," at the U.S. consulate in London. That would give you up to 6 months. However, it's highly unlikely that you would NOT be approved for such a visa and if that happens, then you also would be black-flagged for the Visa Waiver Program, which would mean you could not travel to the United States at all. So 90 days it is, not more. Still, a pretty cool vacation.

Unless you have some kind of criminal record, you will travel under the visa waiver program so you will need only your passport and a return or onward ticket.

Have a great trip! I hope you enjoy our fair city as much as I.

Check with a travel agent. You may not need one (visa I mean mmm on second thoughts the travel agent too).
If you are a terrorist please shave off your beard. Do not run through the terminal shouting Allah Aqbah.
Do not take your nail clippers nor 5 kilos of high explosive strapped round your pretty waist.
