I have 7 marble mollies, 3 girls and 4 boys, (babies in a breeding net), one of the male mollies is swimming to the top of the water and looks like what appears to be eating or gasping or something. His mouth is at the top rim of the water almost like he wants out. His favorite position seems to be next to the glass and breeding net. He doesn't look ill or anything and he eats.No other fish join him and he's there for at least 30 min of every hour.

this is not a new tank, it is a 10 gallon tank and I did a 30-40% water change yesterday.

Typically speaking, this is a strong sign of ammonia exposure, with the appearence of gasping for breath, and this usually occurs in new tank set ups that are still processing the nitrogen cycle. How new is the tank? First thing I would look into is your ammonia levels and see if that is showing. Other possibilities are lack of proper oxygenation, or temperature is too high possibly. I'll check back with you if you have any follow up information, or you can email me direct via my profile.

lol, this is actually kinda funny because mine always do the same

I got actually the impression that he was watching out for the babies, he was never sick though

I don't think that is something to be worried about

Hope that helps
Good luck
