I'm going to be a senior this year, so I will be asking teachers and coaches for letters of recommendation. Will I be able to see the recommendation they write before I send it to college, or does it go to my guidance conselour and she sends it? For example, my english teacher as of last year went to another school this year. If I write a letter to him at his new school requesting a letter of recommendation, should I include a post stamped envelope to my house or to the school's guidance department?

First, just to let you know you should ask the teachers you have in your junior year for the letters of rec and mostly from teachers and not conselour since teachers tend to know you better since you are in class and what not.

You need to include a stamped envelop for the teacher, s/he will place the letter in there and seal it. You will not be able to open it or even take a look at it. Afterwards, give it to your counselour and ask him/her how to go on about sending it along with your application.

Hope that helps, good luck
