Not only are they not held accountable, they are paid a handsome wage for the rest of their lives, too. Somehow, it doesn't seem right...

Everyone makes disastrous decisions and are accountable for them!! Yes, politicians make wrong decisions but their are times when the right decisions are made!! If you are a politician you have a high tolerance for making wrong decisions!!! Their are hundreds of votes in congress every year..they have to count on good advice from aides!! Sometimes their staff is a little weak!!

The consequences are being voted out of office. Unfortunately with the 2 party system , they have close to 50% support no matter what kind of mistakes or good they do.

elected officials are employees of the people that are hired based on what they claim they can or will do.
once hired, they are not required to either do or even try and do the job they were hired to do. they cannot be fired by their employer for a set period of time unless they commit a crime.
tell me this kind of setup would be tolerated or would even function for ANY employer in the private sector.

They grease the palms of the corporations that have pull within the judiciary side of the country. Politicians say "This is a nation of laws". Yet they hold themselves immune to the very laws they claim to represent.

Politicians face accountability at every election. We, the people have the hammer of accountability at each election. Whose fault is it if we pay no attention and fail to use it?

Because voters don't push out the bad decision makers. Instead they whine. If YOU don't like the selfish, lawless, unconstitutional things our elected leaders do regularly, then register to vote and vote them OUT! And campaign against these monsters, like I do.

Pitiful to say the least, even a minimum wage earner at McDonald's is held responsible for actions to the public and company. Because "WE" allow it.

they go before congress instead of being tried by their peers -it is ridiculous that "the club" tries them - they should be brought to a court and tried by "regular citizens"not their friends or people they have relationships with. maybe some of them would actually go to jail- Romney wants to remove their pensions as punishment -the majority of them are rich already so how does that punish them?
