'Ground Chuck' was a very good coach! The game started passing him by when in the late seventies they made a series of rule changes to turn the NFL into a passing league. Knox was 'the master' of the running attack that used to dominate in the NFL.

Average...but good for the Seahawks until Holmgren, who is the best they've had...Knox started out coaching with the Rams in the early 70s, and was good with them...but after that, he seemed to be average...

Very good coach. Great defensive strategy and gambling offense.
Major problem: He got way too conservative in playoff and important conference games. During his term with the Rams, they should have been in two superbowls, but conservative play calling and questionable defensive moves, gave the Vikings and Cowboys early advantages

Very good coach. Teams were in the playoffs every year. If he were coaching today he'd be among the top 5 in salary
