What causes CFL Lightbulbs to burn out really fast?

I have installed some CFL Lightbulbs that are advertised to last 5 years, but they have burned out in about 6 months with very moderate use. What's the deal?

I also face same problem it may be because of voltage fluctuation, or frequent on/off operation .If they advertise 5 years ,better retiurn to them , they have to replace it free of cost.If all customer do like this they will not cheat like this,Go for china bulbs or cheaper one it will work better than expensive bulbs.
