I have 150 gallon tank it is about 15-20 years old does it need to be re-sealed. If not how long will a fish last without re-sealing?

I would take the old seal out and reseal it because if you leave the old seal on and just put new over, it will have no effect

Well, if it leaks it needs to be re-sealed. If you don't re-seal it, the fish will last until it runs out of water (the water is all over your floor instead)

If it doesn't leak, no need to fix what isn't broken.

If it doesn't leak, there is no resealing needed
