My sister got some fish a few weeks ago a black shark with a orange tail 2 neon teras two female guppies and a sucker fish..
First her shark killed one of her neon tetras and then last night we put one of her guppies back in the tank( we had it out in a different tank breeding it with a male of mine) when we looked the next morning she was dead! does anyone know why its doing this? it only let the neon tera thats left near its tank and didnt let any other fish near it.

I have one to in my tank and it gets along with my guppies and other fish!

I dont think its a bala shark. sounds more like a redtail shark or rainbow shark both look very similar. These sharks can get agressive with tank mates and each can have its own "personality" Your may just be a more mellow one. They are however semi agressive with tank mates that are smaller than them so that may be why its attacking the guppies. If you put the two sharks in the same tank they also tend to fight with others of the same species. The only thing i can recomend doing is adding some more hiding spot for the fish to retreat to and may help them from getting picked on. Or find a new home for the shark.

Guppies and Betta are risky. each and every so often it works, each and every so often the guppies get attacked. relies upon on the guy betta and the tank length. If the only interior the save resides with guppies now, consistent with risk that is calm sufficient to proceed residing with them. Betta and neons are oftentimes ok, as long by way of fact the neons are in a school and the tank is great sufficient. Then their numbers and velocity keeps them secure. Betta and silver sharks - may well be ok for a whilst, however the sharks get huge, and are quickly movers. they are going to initiate freaking out the betta in basic terms by using charging around the tank. person length is a few foot long, so they're in all probability no longer a reliable fish on your tank. greater like a 6ft tank with Oscars and different huge fish. It's a red tailed shark. They can be aggressive and territorial. I have one in a community tank, and he doesn't really bother the others at all. May chase them away from him every now and then.

The tank may not be large enough, and he's pretty much claiming the whole tank as his territory.

your shark is called a red tailed shark
http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=16&cat=1953&articleid=2775

and they're not compatible with neither your neons nor your guppy's since the shark is semiaggressive, and they're also known as fin nippers.

And they also need a lot of room to swim

Just read the above link, there is also a compatibility chart on the bottom

Hope that helps
Good luck

simply its a sharks instinct, sharks instinct is to defend its territory, it will mark a terriotory where it spend 75% of its time at, if a fish gets near it, he get mad, so he attacks...
