Maybe I've got the wrong programme but it was like the Time the Place, on in the mornings. He was a northerner, but didn't have a strong accent, quiet dashing and charming very tall and quiet heavy set. WHO IS HE!!. It's doing my head in. Not Kilroy

I'll agree that it was John Stapleton (married to Lynne Faulds-Wood - which I may not have spelled correctly) and the programme was indeed "The Time, The Place".
Both that and "Kilroy" went out at much the same time, but "TT,TP" was live whereas the other one was recorded.
I appeared on the Stapleton one in December 1995.
By the way, "Kilroy" was on BBC and the other programme was on commercial television.
