Here is what I do. I take 2 Excedrin Migranes before I go out. Then drink as much water before and during as I can. then when I come home I always drink at least 1 huge glass of water. Hangovers are caused by the alcohol , and the shrinking blood vessels, and dehydration (alot of other scientific stuff you can look up) but the bottom line is water hydrates your body, thus no hang over. Water is the key.

Alternate fruit juice or water in amongst your drinks to avoid dehydration later on. Avoid fizzy or sugary stuff. The purists reckon that about 200ml of water is needed to effectively counteract each 30ml of alcohol.
The alcohol in carbonated drinks is absorbed more quickly than in non-carbonated drinks.
Reduce the amount of sugar you consume with your alcohol. The forced metabolism of sugar AND alcohol by your body will accelerate the depletion of B vitamins and make the hangover worse.
The 2am pig-out. Pizza or pasta is usually best since cheese and carbohydrates are a good source of amino acids. Actually food is a good idea all round - before, during and immediately after drinking. Food doesn't absorb alcohol, but it does increase metabolism, activates alcohol absorption, and increases the speed with which the body processes alcohol.

I guess people dont read others' answers before posting one, because they all said the same thing except for a few. I have the same problem, and my friends seem to be just fine. Anyway a couple of my friends swear by vitamin B-12 or any vitamin B. One before you start drinking and one when you are done for the night. I honestly didnt notice too much difference when I did it? Yeah and always the water. Also vitamin water has a drink called Revive and its specifically designed for partiers...its really yummy. Try that before going to sleep. Its all about before going to bed though...because come morning its too late!

I've heard of using lemon to curb sickness. Peppermint alway calms a stomach--maybe peppermint tea. You def should put some food into your stomach--the greasier the better. The night before, take advil and drink an 8oz glass of water. Foods rich in vitamin A also help because when you drink alcohol it depleats your vit a:)

Old wives tale but seems to work - eat a tin of oily fish before you go out and drink a glass of milk.
If you really have had too much before you go to sleep drink a glass of water with sugar in it - main reason for the hangover is dehydration
Have a red bull in the morning for a booster
Job done!

I have a tried and tested method which hasn't failed me in 6 years. Before you go to bed, take 2 paracetamol, as much water as you can manage and, this is the piece de resistance, a high strength vitamin c tablet. The tablets fight the headache as you sleep, the water rehydrates you as you sleep, and the vit c takes away the general yuckiness, (have you ever got up in the morning after a night out and really wanted orange juice?).

Drink less.
Drink liquor, not beer.
Drink clear liquor, not dark.
Drink a glas of water after every couple of drinks.
Before going to bed drink one glass of water and an aspirin or advil.
Have gatorade on hand for the morning.
If you practice all of this your hangovers will be about half as bad.

Make sure you eat before you go out and drink glass of milk. Try and have a soft drink after a few alcoholic ones. When you get in drink at least a pint of water and have two paracetamol.
