I was originially set on Macie... but now another name has caught my attention... What do you think of Maesyn (like Mason)? To explain a little further, I'd like it to be pronounced more May-sin than May-sun... I hated the name Mason for a boy yet... it's cute as a girl name. I could also still call her Maesy for short. Odd spellings yes... but Maesyn seems more feminine.

Or it could be Macyn or Maecyn..... whatever the case for the nickname, ya just have to drop the N off of it. So it would be Macy or Maecy.

Of the spellings you've suggested, I like Maesyn the best. the "y" helps in having it pronounced with an "i" rather than a "u" sound. Congrats!

No, don't name you daughter a boy name. Macy is beautiful! No matter how you spell Mason it's a boy name. A spelling of a name doesn't make it more or less feminine the sound does. Just keep Macy it's really cute!

I Love Maesyn, The spelling is awesome--When she's in highschool her friends would most likely call her Mae which would probably make everyone jelous that they don't have a cool nickname like that. I think you should do it!
What' sher middle name going to be? I think Maesyn Lin or Maesyn Renee is cute too.
Congrats on your baby girl and good luck with everything!

I like Macyn out of them. I agree its a cut name for a girl but for a boy it sounds a bit feminine. Congrats on the baby and good luck with the naming.

I think this is soo cute! I like the spelling Macyn. I agree that this name is fit better for a girl, I'm not fond of it for a boy-sounds too feminine. Good luck and good name choice.

Yuck. Silly name for a little boy, I agree, but I think it sounds even more ridiculous on a girl. Not feminine at all, and the butchered spelling is just going to be a headache for the child growing up.
Maise is the original Hawaaiin spelling, and I think it's fine as a full name. It's a bit common and trendy right now, and too "cutesy and little girlish" for my taste, but at least it's a legitimate name. I would stick with that.
Good luck!

No. I don't like either names. Maybe it is because I know two guys with the last names of Mason and Macie (pronounced Macie anyway) and I think of them not only as last names but as masculine. (We all call the guy Macie)
