I know this is a dumb question but how do you count the days that sperm lives. I was told that it could live for 2-5 days. My husband and I had sex on Sunday and I ovulated yesterday. Do I count Sunday as day one or do I count Monday as day one? I am just trying to calculate if there was a chance that the sperm lived until Tuesday! I was not expecting to ovulate so soon! My periods are not regular!

Sunday would be day 1 and there is a good chance that some lived until Tuesday if you had good fertile quality cm at the time. If you have irregular periods, try using a opk in addition to charting you temps. I was recommended to do this in addition to my charting because your charting only determines ovulation after the fact which is ok if you are very regular but not so ok in a case like this. Sperm can live up to seven days inside a woman and 3 hours out. To calculate the conception date go your last period even if your periods are not regular make sure you calculate your last two periods before you get the recent one.

It lives up to 5 days in fertile cervical mucus which is present a few days before ovulation. In all other conditons it dies after a few hours. Sex starting on Friday (last Friday) could result in a baby.

your chances are very high they say to have sex everyother day since you had sex on sunday I would have to say you may get lucky good luck!!!
