The female in the relationship being the more intellectually smarter person?

Question

How do you feel about these relationships?

I know the concept of the male being smarter is an old concept but Be honest with yourself, society today still, often see males as being the more smarter one in relationships.

I don't want bullshit answers about how everyone is smart in their own sense, i'm talking about her getting the high GPA/IQ/OP/RANK/etc. any intellectual grading system.

I knew i'll get this problem.
I did not state that In anyway, shape or form that i had/have a problem with a fact that a female is more intelligent than a male.
I'm asking for your views, and how you perceive this ideology.
General society view couples as the male being the bread earner and the female being the home-wife. I know that things have changed. but these views are still considered.

I just made the above statement as if I am always the most intelligently in my relationships. Not true. I was just trying to say that... O ****... just digging a hole here. Either way I dont mind being the less/more intelligent in the relationship.

i think if you really love a person, it doesn't really matter who is the smartest.....the smartest one has an excellent oportunity to help the other one! not everyone has the oportunity to get to go to college, or while their in school, they are just trying to keep life together, while their homelife is falling apart......my husband is from another country....i had to teach him english, and i helped him study for his aircondition licenses......now he is a mgr......we started out using 2 dicitionaries to communicate too each other with............WHO IS SMARTER SHOULDN'T BE A COMPETION FOR ANYONE...........YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE A TEAM !!!...........that's my 2 cents worth !!!

Before I got married, I felt strongly that I wanted to marry a 'smarter' person... so I married an extremely intelligent man (I'm smart too! I have 2 university degrees, one in biochemistry , the other in medicine). That was 17 years ago. I have now changed my mind... It doesn't matter. What's important is that you have chemistry, you love and respect each other and that you have similar views of the world and are 'compatible'. The rest, quite simply, doesn't matter.

Why is this a problem? I am smarter, have a much higher IQ, and make twice the money my husband does. He is very proud of me. He is a self-confident man, so he does not feel intimidated by an intelligent wife. And, why should he?

By the way, "more smarter" is not proper grammar. Is your wife/gf smarter than you?

i am infact smarter than my boyfriend, but it makes no difference who is smarter. i went to uni where he dropped out of school in the 9th grade. but i seem to have book smarts but lack in the street smarts where as he has the street smarts and not the book smarts so we fit together really well and i may have the uni degree but he still earns more money than me

well technically i believe that women have more intution and are smarter only because they are. i hate to burst your bubble but they are more keen and cunning and stuff. they generally have all things well fixed. they can work, take care of kids and cook, clean and do all these things a man can't begin to deal with and that is plenty more it takes brains and alot of orgnization to do thses things right ?

actually, i dont think it matters to the guy as much unless they are both equally '
competitive and egotistical people. probably not a good match in the long haul. If she is better at sports and/or games and the guy is very competitive...could be another bad match.
