Okay so I am going to start breeding bettas and I want to make sure I have everything I need..

5 gallon tank for breeding (when I was researching someone said that a 5 gallon works great compared to the 10)
smaller 2.5s for individuals
fry food (atisons)
a net
anit-fungus stuff for the eggs and frys
sponge filter
thermometer
individual tanks for when the fry get bigger

did i miss anything?

I honestly have a lot of success using a 2.5 gallon spawning tank and after the fry are free swimming I like to sort them out into smaller jars so that frequent water changes are easier and I can just pour them from the top and leave the waste to pour out afterwards.
Though I guess everyone will have their different opinions on what works best. :)
5 gallons to me just seems unnecessary for spawning.. I've done it easily multiple times with the 2.5 gallon.
I place a glass divider in it, add the female towards dusk, and once the sun goes down completely I remove the glass divider.
After spawning and everything with the fry is taken care of I transfer my females to my 38 gallon.

a 10 gallon tank filled with 6 inch water is better to go, because the female can escape, and you can put more live plants in as well
a heater would be helpful as well

Hope that helps
Good luck

Sounds great but howe about some medicine for the adult bettas after breeding. They need medicine for their cuts and wounds.

You might want to add a grow out tank to your list.
