My fiancee's ex keeps calling our house phone. My phone company can't do anything about it because she's a "private caller" now. The police won't do anything about it - been there done that. (Last time I got a warrant for assualt and before they arrested her they told her to get a cross warrant for me - and I got arrested for a lie) So, I don't have many options. I have a daughter and she means more to me than fighting with anyone. I would really like to ignore it as much as possible. I was wondering if anyone knew of any really good and annoying messages that I could put on my answering machine so that I can ignore her and get my point across at the same time. I'm hoping that when she realizes that we aren't answering the phone anymore she will give up.

Changing my number is a very good idea and it would keep me sane. But I'm not the one that has a problem, why should I be forced to do that and prove to her that she can just run me off?

BTW - she doesn't need to meet anyone else, on top of all of this, she is a married woman with 3 kids herself.

I am surprise that the police cannot assist..I guess it all depends the state you live in. Been there myself in more ways than one and had my share of dealing with s***** b******..ex or no ex! I can remember it all, like it just happened a second ago..too funny. Here in NY I got what I needed and done. Yes through NYPD...Got them served with papers and a visit by the NYPD..If this thorn or bunion continues to harass you, record her nonsense, tap your phone. Better yet do what you stated "Ignore the bunion" do not pick up when she calls. Everyone else should be on that same note as you. if the bunion does not get it hmmmm than you might have your hands full. Than again there is the power of "Prayer" thank the lord everyday, it does get better do it for yourself and daughter and I agree with you on this!

Don't know where u are from but believe me where there is a will there is a way of getting rid of "annoying exes" I Understand your anger and frustration..let it go she will eventually get the message...especially when you start to "IGNORE IT" Good luck to you and your family :) P.S that is what she wants to get your attention...pist her off by ignoring her..I hope it works!!! Do not change your number! I agree with you on this one too..and those who say you should IGNORE!

First off, why don't you change your number and keep it unlisted? That seems like an obvious solution.
Secondly, I think that if you don't want to change the number, just ignoring her will wear her out after a while.(it may be a long while, but still) Don't pick up when she calls and she'll eventually get the idea.
If you put a message on the machine 'just for her', it will just encourage her and make her happy that she is annoying you.
Hang in there! She's bound to meet someone else ---eventually!

Trying to be annoying is way worse than being unintentionally annoying. Just like deliberately killing someone is way worse than accidentally doing so. I disagree with your generalizations, however. Both groups have their share of the deliberating annoying, the non-annoying, and the unintentionally annoying.

First get a lowd whistle and lay it beside the phone. Then make sure that you have caller ID. When you see her number on the ID then simply pick the phone up and blow the whistle in her ear, then hang up the phone. Enough of this and she will stop calling.

Since all men are pigs, find a new pig who doesn' t have all that crap following him. Guys are a dime a dozen. She won't give up. Even though it's never stated on TV talk shows, you're finding out how "great" women can really be. So what do you think of your gender now? Do you think it's always the mans fault? So much for women not "needing men..huh"?

Give up the pride factor and dump him, that way you'll dump her too.

Saw this just the other day in Reader's Digest--"Hello, I am home right now but I'm not answering the phone because I am trying to avoid someone I don't like. If I don't return your call that means it's you."

Why stoop to her level? Just change your phone number...and if she manages to get your number and still calls...just simply hang the phone up. She will eventually quit when she realizes that she isn't getting the response she wants from you and your fiance.

you should change you number even though you are the one being harassed by her it will solve the problem then get your number unlisted so she cant find it. I had to deal with this to except its my husbands ex-wife and she was calling my cell phone and telling me how she was going to steal him back and all this BS good luck I know how that is and it did drive me nuts. good luck sorry

Change your number and be done with it. Changing your number is alot easier than all the other drama that you have allowed. I blame you more because you could of stopped it simply by changing your number.

Change your number and get an unlisted number. Dear goodness, I can't believe you did all that silly drama and overlooked the obvious.
