he's letting everyone know he has a clean conscience so he is able to sleep at night. if it was my child in question, i don't think i would be able too.

Just read the blog for the first time, and the only way I can descibe it is creepy. In some of the pictures Madeline looks completely miserable (only mentioning this because of a recent rant about how happy she always looked and so they must have been great parents)...but he is just unbelievable, ending every day with his running schedule, and all but cracking jokes.
'We did hope that the main objective of the fund would have been fulfilled long before now' what the hell does this mean? What were the other objectives of the fund? And why haven't they actually used any yet to look for her??

Oh, I know, Roisen, I cannot stand Gerry at all. He has seemed so self-centered right from the start of all this. I can offer no explanation as to how he can write that blog at all, let alone explain the totally pointless stuff that he writes about. I hadn't read the blog in awhile and I did manage to read a few of the latest entries and this one that you are quoting is one that I read. I find it hard to believe that anyone could sleep at all if they had lost a child, let alone go to bed early, go jogging, and talk about cakes that they have recently eaten. If I had lost a child I would not be able to eat, sleep, or even function. This whole case has been so strange, I hope that we can soon find out what really happened to Maddie. I still feel that the McCann's behavior indicates that they know more than they are letting on.

If it is necessary for Gerry to keep a diary of daily events, this should be a private thing and NOT for public view - how he can speak of things so trivial in his Blog when his little daughter is still missing, probably dead, is beyond belief.

I haven't taken too much notice of this story to be honest. Obviously I heard in the news when the little girl went missing - due to parental neglect it seems to me - and I've hoped she would be found safe and well, I still do - unlikely as that now is.

However, I have noticed how strange the behaviour of her parents is. Words like desperate, devastated, frantic, or even concerned do not seem to apply to them.

They look like they're on holiday, having a relaxed time. This may be the way the press is presenting them, but when I read things like this - the fact that the father can even consider writing a blog - when I'd expect him to appear unshaven, bedraggled, full of remorse and begging for information - seriously beggars belief.

Because he thinks we are all interested in him now he's a cleb, I dislike the way this man has acted since Madeleine went missing on may 3rd. He looks like he is on one long holiday.
