If you are a recovering alcoholic then you should most certainly be alarmed and notify your local water authorities immediately. If not, then can I come over and have a cup of water with you?

It would depend on if you are using a private well, or connected to the city system. If it were a private well, I would say yes and have it checked for content. You could have a chemical spill or some sort of pollution problem. If you have a filtering system on your well change the filter.
If connected to the city or private company using public lines, NO, but I would still put some sort of home filtering system on my waterline.
If all tests prove negative contamination, bottle it and sell it as low cal gin flavored bottled water. Probably would sell quite well.
