Do Canadians have more or less liberties/freedoms than Americans?

Say whether you think Canadians have more or less liberties and why?

I say more because, legal drinking age is lower, statutory rape is more lenient meaning 18 yo can have sex with 16 yo and it isn't a crime and we broadcast nudity, adult language and content in our network television stations.

We don't have a constitution..are you being serious?

I think we have more liberties as a result of more laws that regulate our rights, liberties and freedoms, so that is kinda a double edged question.

Actually, anyone can have sex with anyone over 14 in Canada (unless in a position of authority like teacher, coach, clergyman, etc.)

We also recognize gay marriage and are getting pretty close (well, pretty close if you understand politics and all the red tape) to decriminalizing pot. We have free health care. We are more liberal with nudity and sexual content on television (not so much with violence though.) We have universal child care credits and child tax credits. We have a tax system that has a much larger middle class, exemptions for the poor and higher taxes for big business and income earners.

It is through our more involved government and regulations that we obtain our extensive rights and liberties.

But.... you dont constantly blab on about how you are the "land of the free"... and you don't have- shock horror!- the constitution! You must have less freedoms than Americans! Everyone does, dammit! Why? Because King Bush told me so!
