Because after the probation was up my lawyer says I had no record and that in applications I can put that I have not been convicted of a crime. He just said that the judge dismissed the case. I'm confused now.

I went through the same thing. I was placed on probation for one year and then, since I had no problems, the record was cleared. I also had to post a bond before court and got the money (less the bail/bondsmans fee) back after one year.

Yes! You committed a violent act, were convicted and were placed on probation! It probably isn't the misdemeanor that is stopping you. It is the violent nature of your offense!

Thats called a diversion. Stay out of trouble while on probaltion and the problem will go away.

No, probation menas you were convicted and completed your sentence. You paid your debet, but you were convicted.
