You are about right, they won't win 50 and they will find themselves fighting for a playoff spot and will be lucky to get out of the first round. Does all of this sound all to familiar?

They were doing really well last season, until injuries settled in and Kobe had to hog the ball again. If Lamar Odom stays healthy, they might win 50-55, and maybe a 2nd round exit. The 2006 Suns series made the world really confident about Kobe's leadership, and the 1st half of last season confirmed it. But that didn't last, and if the Lakers don't win 50 games this season or make another first round exit, Kobe will be even more vehement in demanding a trade. He can't leave until 2009, though.
The day the Lakers win 50 games is the day Kobe wins his MVP.

A lot of teams in the west have improved themselves with free agency and the draft.I must say the Lakers didnt do much in either case. This really surprised me.Kobe is one of the best players in the game but could use some help.Expect another season like the last one.

If everyone stays healthy, believe me they can do VERY well. Remember they were 26-13 at some point last season. Then the injuries came and everything had to go through Kobe. I just hope that everyone stays healthy and Lakers will be playing GREAT basketball.

30-52. Kobe will be traded for some youngsters. Mark my word. Mitch Kupcake will put the Lakers on rebuilding mode, but in a few seasons, they'll be back on top on the "respect" level

They'll probably be 5 or 6 games above 500. And grab the 7th seed again and lose to the 2 seed again.

They will struggle to get 40 wins and barely make it to the playoffs, only to be knocked out of the first round again.
