"The parents of missing Madeleine McCann are calling for a change in international policing laws to ensure all crimes against children are treated the same way throughout Europe."
"The demand, to be made tomorrow, will underline any inadequacies in the Portuguese investigation into Madeleine's disappearance."
"Research published tomorrow, conducted for the Find Madeleine Campaign, will show widespread support among MPs and MEPs for a cross-European policing policy."
Well hang on, who conducted this research?? the Find Madeleine Campaign, oh well no vested interest there, so it must be an accurate survey. Let me guess, every person they asked said it was a good idea?
Can anyone explain to me what moral authority the McCanns have to lecture anyone in the EU about missing children?
And check out the gem from David Payne in the piece as well. Of course youre being dragged into the story, because youre the friggen main players. Idiot.

Does that mean that if you neglect your kids in any country you will be investigated? I assume thats what they mean!
Duisend - poot, I wouldnt be in the position that the mccanns are in because I would never leave 3 young children unattended whilst I went out on the razzle, its blatant neglect.

OK Mcann's the culture in Portugal is different to that here. In England we have lunch breaks of an Hour. Our Police are not supposed to drink whilst on duty. (does that include their lunch break?) In Portugal the culture is different. It gets very hot in the middle if the day, so they take a 2 hour break, they do however work later into the evening. As for drinking Alcohol i can assure the Mcann's that it is quite normal in the rest of Europe to drink Wine at lunch time. As for a nip of whisky. why not? So long as it doesn't interfere with their ability to do their job. Portugal is a modern country, if they were not capable they would be disciplined. When will The Mcann Family focus on the neglect of the Mccann kids by the Parents? Easier to blame others isn't it? Perhaps if the Parents had told the truth from the start the Portuguese might have stood a chance of finding Madeleine.

God! Wouldn't the stories surrounding the McCanns & Maddy be boring if the press didn't add in extra bits for you all to keep coming back.
Everything that the papers, various internet sites & news channels tell you has been over sentionalised for your enjoyment. They know how to get the public chewing at the bit & baying for blood.
Everything you hear is second hand. It's like chinese whispers. By the time Joe Public hears it. More has been added.
When you have the McCanns on TV with a detective standing next to them pointing the finger. Then you can say 'you were right' You are shouting strong accusations around on nothing but chinese whispers.
I agree that they were neglectful and they shouldn't of left their children alone. I don't agree with the theories that they had anything to do with it or they are covering something up.
They are dealing with the disappearance of their daughter. You don't know how you would deal with something like that until you are in that position.
Just for once try and put yourself in that position. Summon up the most grief, guilt, saddness, worry, shame & fear that you could feel at once. It must be like a brick dragging them down. Knowing that people are whispering, talking & pointing the finger at them.

''Mr Payne is upset that the McCanns and other close friends holidaying in Praia da Luz, Portugal, when Madeleine went missing have been dragged into the inquiry.''
He's gotta be f* joking, right?
I mean, if he is involved then what did he expect, that they would say: 'Oh yeah, you might have vital leads to this case but we won't drag you into this because we wouldn't want you getting upset'.
Come on... This is becoming more of a joke everyday.
The Mcanns have no right whatsoever of criticising the Portuguese Police. If they had called them as soon as they found out their daughter was missing and if they hadn't tampered with evidence their daughter might have been found by now.

Nobody likes change except a wet baby...
And you're throwing out the baby with the bath water...
You know fully well that the McCanns are trying to get an Amber Alert like system in place. Wouldn't it just wonderful if such a system was functional thru'out the world?
It makes perfect sense to me. It doesn't to you just 'cos you can't stand the people who are lobbying for it. Talk about being blinded.
Don't let your petty spite & anger blind you to the good such a system would do to the millions of children worldwide.

A change in international police law would obviously be a good idea whoever is asking for it, simply because the Portuguese police are totally incompetent! 3 months to find a speck of blood, unable to seal a crime scene, slow to respond, the list goes on! British police would most probably have had this case wrapped up weeks ago. Would you not be just a bit p*ssed off with them if it was your child they were looking for?

This story does not make sense.
They left the poor little girl on her own and caused this, i am pissed off with these two idiots.
I have a degree too doesn't make them smart that they are educated or special in my eyes.
They do not deserve a life for leaving their family behind, worse than scum if you ask me.
I don't believe a word of their story it's fake i tell you.
We do not know if they are the killers.
They are smart people and may be very good liars.
I am still not dismissing them as potential suspects.
I think they should be potentially prosecuted for the way they handled the children.
I would give them both a sentence for their actions in not caring for their children.
Leave the talking to the Governments, to decide what happens.
Potential killers don't make laws.
Actually we should have a law that every parent should have to make sure they are aware of where her children are at all times. If they leave them alone in Europe they should be prosecuted in court.

As I said all along there is a ulterior motive to the disappearance of young Maddy, I actually thought it was to make parents cry out for their children to be chipped as they do to dogs, if its another step towards a one world government law then I wasn't that wrong, I'm sure Maddy is alive somewhere and no doubt when the new law is passed or the worlds population is tagged she will be found unless it is part of the agreement that she wont be. Nobody in this world will convince me this is your every day child abduction.

Have you not learnt yet that the tabloids sensationalise everything. Call becomes demand. It is nothing to do with moral authority. It isn't about caring for kids. What vested interest? How can they benefit from this? The research was conducted on behalf of the fund and shows widespread support among MPs and MEPs for a cross-European policing policy.
British police employ a child rescue alert scheme which is activated the moment a child goes missing. The Portuguese authorities are accused of responding too slowly and squandering the vital three hours after Madeleine vanished - the optimum time to recover a missing child.
Sounds sensible to me to have a uniform policy.

I can not believe I am getting to the stage where I really want to hurt this Gerry McCann, he has his head so far up his own bottom.
Have Gerry done door to door investigations? NO, well may be he should! I know the Portugese police are crap but he can not go around trying to change their law when it is his fault!
And take his 2 younger kids in their pushchair so he can keep an eye on them and they can get some fresh air.
As for Kate GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Bit of a cheek really. Clearly no respect for the laws of other countries. Lest they forget that their lies on day one hindered the investigation in the first place.
Now they have been advised by the police not to leave Portugal because of important new evidence. Perhaps the police have evidence to suggest that they were involved and don't want them skipping out of the country.
