its cute, but it reminds me of the actress with all the substance abuse problems.

Lyndsay is a very pretty name.
It is VERY, VERY popular with girls that are currently 13-25. The first association I have is Lohan, which is bad. I believe a lot of people will do the same.

not as popular as it used to be so she may be the only one in her class. It's hard to give an opinion honestly if you know someone with that name because of the associations ( there is a lyndsay at work and she is downright lazy!!)
Before meeting her I would have said it was a nice name!!!

I LOVE it. And I like how you're not trying to find something "unique". Lyndsay is unique in it's own way. I never hear that name anymore and I like that about the older names. Good luck!

No-one has yet answered your question, which requests opinions on the name Lyndsay "FOR YOUR FIRST BORN GIRL" (Sorry for shouting.)
Is there a reason why you stipulated first born?
The name, and whichever variant of the spelling you prefer, is perfectly suited to any girl, whether first born or not.
If you decide on the less frequesntly used spelling, then you, and your daughter when she is older, will have to spell it out everytime someone gets it wrong. This can be a pain.
As someone else said, this gift is within your remit. Use it wisely.

It's a very pretty name. I don't know if this would be of interest to you but the other day while searching baby names I came across the name Lynsey? You like it? Good luck.. I like the name.. and I think it's spelled differently than Lindsay Lohan's name.
