You can use toothpaste and an old toothbrush (don't use gel toothpaste though). Or, you can get a special cloth that you rub over the silver to polish it. I make jewelry, and i have a lot of sterling silver beads that I use one of those cloths on.

There are many silver cleaning products on the market from pastes to liquids. I've used most of them and they all seem to do the job. They are available in supermarkets, department stores, big box stores, everywhere. There are also products available specifically for gold and brass. Do not use those on silver as it is a softer metal.

One good way of cleaning silver is to dip it in water that potatoes have been boiled in. That is how I clean my delicate silver. I have found that polish and liquid silver cleaner will eventually do damage and cause the silver to tarnish more quickly the next time.
